I can tell you that this was my son's best summer camping, and his first time staying 8 weeks at Alvernia only. He started talking about returning next summer about halfway in, and when he is a happy camper, Mommy is a happy camper! :)
My son was cared for in a way that I do not think could be matched at another camp. Camp was a constant source of happiness for my son, he came home with positive stories everyday. Even when he had a tough day he still came home with something he learned. We cannot express our gratitude.

The staff is so well-trained! They are so engaged with the children at all times. I have found all of the counselors to be very caring and committed to making every day a camp a great one! Whatever you're doing in terms of hiring/training is working….don't change a thing!

Both of our children really enjoy the relationships they have with your staff members. They speak fondly of them and it's quite apparent that they look up to the staff members. I didn't realize how special Camp Alvernia is until my children went to tennis camp later in the summer and complained about the other campers being rude and saying bad words. They explained that it's so much better at Camp Alvernia because people don't act like that there. It made us really appreciate the special culture that exists at Camp Alvernia where everyone is respectful and the staffers know that they are role models and regardless of their age, take that responsibility seriously.

It was my three daughters' first ever camp experience. I sent them because I had gone back to work (lucky for me!) and needed day care. I had a little bit of trepidation because they didn't know anyone and my two elder daughters are rather shy. They all had a wonderful time.
